Getting Here
The far north may feel remote, but getting here is easier than many imagine. Whether you arrive by air, bus or car, we are happy to help you plan your journey.
Airports
The nearest airports are Tromsø Airport (170 km, Norway), Bardufoss Airport (150 km, Norway), Kittilä Airport (250 km, Finland) and Kiruna Airport (290 km, Sweden).
For many international travelers, Tromsø is the most convenient gateway to Arctic Land Adventure. The drive from Tromsø to Kilpisjärvi takes approximately 2.5 hours. Guests continuing to the Reindeer Ranch, Glass Igloos or Villa Vasara should allow an additional 20 minutes to reach Lake Peerajärvi.
Private and charter flights may also operate via Enontekiö Airport (150 km, Finland) during the winter season.
For guests arriving by private aircraft, VIP handling, passenger services, ground transportation and bespoke aviation arrangements can be organised upon request through our trusted local aviation partner.

Bus Connections
Best Arctic operates a daily service between Tromsø and Rovaniemi in cooperation with Eskelisen Lapin Linjat. The route passes through Kilpisjärvi and Kittilä, providing convenient connections from both Norway and Finland.
Passengers travelling from Tromsø to Arctic Land Adventure change from the Norwegian coach to the Finnish coach in Kilpisjärvi before continuing their journey.
Arctic Land Adventure has its own bus stop, Kilpisjärvi: Peera / Arctic Land Adventure.
If you plan to arrive by bus, please let us know in advance. We are happy to pick you up from the Peera / Arctic Land Adventure bus stop free of charge.
Please note that if you choose to leave the bus in Kilpisjärvi village centre instead of at the Peera / Arctic Land Adventure stop, you will need to arrange your own transportation to the Reindeer Ranch.
Driving to Kilpisjärvi
Travelling to Kilpisjärvi by car is straightforward and all main routes are maintained throughout the year.
Whether arriving from Finland, Norway or Sweden, the journey takes you through the unique landscapes of northern Lapland and the border region between three countries.
Free parking is available at all Arctic Land Adventure properties.
Check-In Information
Check-in is available from 16:00 and check-out is by 11:00 unless otherwise agreed.
Guests arriving by bus from Tromsø typically arrive in the area around 11:00. If you arrive before check-in, you are welcome to spend time in our Kota Lounge at the reception area. The lounge offers a warm and comfortable place to relax while waiting for your accommodation to be ready.
Luggage storage is available free of charge for early arrivals and late departures.
If you arrive by bus, please let us know in advance. We are happy to pick you up from the Peera / Arctic Land Adventure bus stop free of charge.
What to Pack
Weather conditions in Lapland can vary significantly throughout the year.
Winter (December–April)
Warm outdoor clothing, thermal layers, a winter hat, gloves and proper winter footwear are essential.
Winter temperatures typically range from around 0°C to -30°C, but periods below -40°C are possible during colder winters.
Guests staying at the Reindeer Ranch, Glass Igloos or Villa Vasara are provided with the thermal outerwear required for Arctic experiences and outdoor activities.
Spring (May–June)
Spring weather can vary from sunny and mild days to below-freezing temperatures, especially during the evenings and nights. Layered clothing and waterproof footwear are recommended.
Summer (June–August)
Comfortable outdoor clothing, a waterproof jacket and suitable footwear for hiking and outdoor activities are recommended.
Even during summer, evenings can be cool, so we recommend bringing an extra warm layer.
Autumn (September–November)
Autumn weather can change quickly. Warm layered clothing, waterproof outerwear and sturdy footwear are recommended for outdoor activities and hiking.

The Reindeer Ranch is located approximately 20 kilometres from Kilpisjärvi village centre to south.
Arriving from Tromsø / Kilpisjärvi
When arriving from Tromsø or Kilpisjärvi, you are approaching the Reindeer Ranch from the north.
Do not worry if the final part of the journey feels remote. You are on the right road.
Please note that Google Maps may occasionally direct visitors to our previous entrance near the Keinovuopio roadside parking area. If you see the parking area and rest stop, do not turn there.
Continue along the main road until you see the Arctic Land Adventure sign.
Turn left towards the Ranch road. At the entrance of the Ranch road, you will find a private electric gate.
For security and privacy reasons, the gate access code is not publicly available. Guests arriving by their own vehicle or private transfer will receive gate access instructions before arrival.
After passing through the gate, continue along the Ranch road until you reach the main building, guest parking area, Glass Igloos and Villa Vasara.
Arriving from Kittilä / Levi
When arriving from the direction of Kittilä / Levi you are approaching the Reindeer Ranch from the south.
After passing Pousujärvi, continue for approximately three kilometres.
You will then cross a small bridge.
Immediately after the bridge, you will see a small cabin by the roadside. The Arctic Land Adventure turn is in the same area, shortly after the bridge.
Reduce your speed and watch carefully for the Arctic Land Adventure sign on your right.
Turn right towards the Ranch road. At the entrance of the Ranch road, you will find a private electric gate.
For security and privacy reasons, the gate access code is not publicly available. Guests arriving by their own vehicle or private transfer will receive gate access instructions before arrival.
After passing through the gate, continue along the Ranch road until you reach the main building, guest parking area, Glass Igloos and Villa Vasara.
Do not worry if there are no buildings visible at first. You are on the right road.
Driving Directions – Kilpisjärven Tunturimajat
Please note that Arctic Land Adventure operates in two separate locations.
The Reindeer Ranch, Glass Igloos and Villa Vasara are located near Lake Peerajärvi, approximately 20 kilometres from Kilpisjärvi village.
Kilpisjärven Tunturimajat are located in the centre of Kilpisjärvi village and have a different address.

Kilpisjärven Tunturimajat are within walking distance of local services, restaurants and outdoor trails.
The cabins are easily accessible year-round by car and can be reached directly from the main road through the village.
If you are arriving by bus, the nearest bus stop is located in Kilpisjärvi village centre, next to the local K-Market.
Free parking is available for all guests.
