Living with the Land
This place shaped us. Not the other way around.
The land comes first.
Life in the far north has never been about conquering nature. It has always been about learning to live with it.
The fells, the lake, the changing seasons and the movement of the reindeer have shaped life in this region for generations. They still do.
Nature is not separate from everyday life. It never was.
It influences how we work, how we build and how we welcome guests.
This place shaped us. Not the other way around.
Following the seasons.
At the Ranch, the year is still measured by the seasons.
Spring brings new life. Summer brings movement across the fells. Autumn is the time to gather. Winter is the season many visitors know best, but for us it is only one part of a much longer cycle.
The rhythm of reindeer herding continues much as it always has.
The seasons decide. We follow.

Small by choice.
Four Glass Igloos.
One Villa Vasara.
One family-run Reindeer Ranch.
We have chosen to remain small because it allows us to stay close to the things that matter most: our guests, our animals and the landscape around us.
Growth has never been the goal. Doing things well has.
Built to belong here.
Nothing at the Ranch was designed to dominate the landscape.
The Glass Igloos sit quietly by Lake Peerajärvi. Villa Vasara was originally built as a family home. Every new addition has been made one step at a time, with respect for the place around it.
We have never built for the sake of building. Only for what was needed.
The goal was never to stand out. The goal was to belong.

Looking after what lasts.
Living with the land is not a project. It is a responsibility.
Geothermal energy. Local partnerships. Small visitor groups. Respect for the herd.
The choices are often simple. Their impact lasts longer.
Small choices. Long-term thinking. Nothing extraordinary.
Just the way we believe things should be done.
These principles continue to guide our work today.
